Color Scheme Resources August 25, 2007
Posted by developpeur in : Cheat Sheets, English, Web Design, Web Development , add a commentSome handy notes, so I won’t get lost on the palette…
The Schemes:
- Monochromatic: Single base color and the any number of shades of that color.
- Achromatic: Without color.
- Analogous: Colors adjacent to one another on the color wheel.
- Complementary: Colors opposite to one another on the color wheel. They “complement” each other.
- Split complementary: The two colors adjacent to the base color’s complement (opposite).
- Triadic: Three colors that are equally spaced between each other on the color wheel
- Tetradic (double complementary): A Complementary scheme combined with another Complementary scheme.

Dave Child Cheat Sheets August 11, 2007
Posted by developpeur in : Cheat Sheets, English, Web Design, Web Development , add a commentIt’s not that I’ve been using cheat sheets all my life or anything, but I must confess they come in handy from time to time (or day to day). Anyway I started making summaries of the books I’ve read and schemes from the technical stuff I’ve studied, all of them strangely resembling a cheat sheet, then I noticed the SitePoint’s Reference Posters I got with some book I bouhgt there were nothing but cheat sheets… so what the heck, here hoes the Cheat Sheet Category for this blog.
I’ve been doing some Cheat Sheets for a time now, more elaborated every time… but honor where honor is due, I got my inspiration from Dave Child’s Cheat Sheets, he’s got some great work at his blog ILoveJackDaniels.com
So I’ll keep this post here as handy link to the mother of all web-dev cheat sheets.
